They where made to accelerate HD movie playback. 5000-series or rather fx-series won't work!!! Nvidia gt100, gt120 and gt130 are new ones, but they wont accelerate your video game much. 7000-series and 6000-series will work, but should be to slow. If you have a nvidia card build into your mac, good ones are the 80 series. EDIT I just saw a post in the german forum (), where somebody runs his 1404 on an ati X1400 video card with vista. Hd-3000 series and hd-4000 series are good cards to play with. I guess u can start with radeon hd-2000 series and very low video settings. The same again with the ati x1-series (x1300, x1600, x1800, x1900) there have been x1-series cards for mac, but not fast enough at all. The minimum video card to play 1404 is an ati radeon x-series card (x300, x500, 圆00, x700, x800, x850) for mac. The more important thing is to have a good video card. btw 1404 isn't that cpu-hungry than 1701.
